Run chats on your own OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter key
Organization owners can add their own provider keys, so chats on those providers run on your own account and use no Chief credits.
If your company already pays OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter directly, your chats in Chief still ran on Chief's provider accounts and spent Chief credits. You can now point them at your own account instead.
AI Providers settings page
Owners get a new AI Providers entry in organization settings. Add a key, give it a name you will recognize later, such as Production Anthropic, and pick the provider it belongs to.
Chief checks the key with the provider before saving it. After that, only the last few characters are shown, and each row carries a status of Active or Rejected plus a Test button so you can confirm a key still works.
Supported providers
You can hold one key per provider:
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- OpenRouter
Once you hold a key for a provider, that provider drops out of the add form, since a second key would have nowhere to go.
Credits and fallback
Chats that go to a provider you have a key for run on your own account and consume no Chief credits. Everything else keeps running on Chief's keys, and a chat never fails because of a missing or rejected key.
Remove a key at any time from the same page, and those chats go back to running on Chief's keys.
Open organization settings and choose AI Providers to add your first key.
