A Notion meeting page now carries a link that opens a Chief live session bound to that page. Creating the page preps the meeting and writes the link back, the action refreshes context shortly before the call, and when the session ends the summary and collapsed transcript are written back to the page.

• A formula property gives every row an instant link with no webhook or action latency, covering pages created at meeting time

The run-now page picker, the trigger's database list, and the connected banner on the Actions page came back empty for any project member who was not the org owner, so pickers showed nothing and the banner settled on not-connected even when the integration was syncing. Members now reach project-scoped Notion reads and see the same pages and status.

Adaptive-thinking models defaulted to omitted display and streamed empty thinking deltas, so a turn that spent its budget reasoning surfaced as an empty response. Chief now requests the summarized thinking display and forwards it, so those turns count as real answers.

Credit threshold alerts computed usage from lifetime allocation consumption across every non-expired grant, so an org that burned an old grant months ago sat above 80% forever and got alerted regardless of current activity, and the number never matched the billing page. Alerts now use this calendar month's debits over debits plus remaining balance, and re-arm on the month boundary.

Machine-fired turns from Chief live sessions (context primer, relay extraction, session actions) ran through the same notification path as user prompts, so each one appeared as a running chat and a completion notification with nothing for you to open. These turns now skip the running registry and the completion event.

Opening the app while a chat was still running could intermittently crash it. That race is fixed, so the app opens reliably whether or not work is in progress.

Chief adds a persisted notification inbox with a bell icon, unread badge, panel, /notifications page, and live toasts, delivered in-app and by email. Background chat results land here titled after their chat, and org owners get billing alerts for payment failures, subscription lifecycle changes, and credit-usage thresholds.

The Slack integration project picker gains a filter input in both the add and edit flows, so you can narrow a long project list by name. Matching is case-insensitive substring on project name and leaves your current selections untouched.

The generated artifacts card showed a "Created N Files" header with the sparkles icon as soon as generation started, so in-progress outputs looked ready. While any artifact is still generating, the card now reads "Generating N Files…" with a spinner and muted styling, and reverts to the completed look once every artifact is ready.

Recalling your last prompt with the up arrow filled the editor but left the action button on "Talk to me", so the character count and button stayed stale. The prompt bar now syncs its input as soon as recalled content is applied, fixing recall, down-arrow navigation, and draft restore.

The Chief live-session header credit counter snapped abruptly when a premium chat turn cost far more than background ticks. The displayed value now eases over about 600ms, and a tooltip splits the tally into chat versus session cost. Persisted billing is unchanged.

Cmd+Q and menu Quit now terminate the app, closing the window keeps it running in the menu bar, and a new "Show Chief in menu bar" setting controls the crown and call detection.

The web app kept showing the "Download for macOS" banner and the "Chief works best as a desktop app" pop-up even after you installed and paired the desktop app. Both promos now stay hidden when your account has a paired desktop device.

A chat opened from an action treated every turn as an automation, so proposing an action update returned Blocked and you could never approve it from the chat. Turns now carry an origin stamped when they start, so a human turn shows the pending confirm card while a scheduled run still blocks.

Dry runs stopped streaming because a conversation load between kickoff and the message row landing read the gap as a dead workflow and cleared the reconnect marker, so the answer only showed once the run finished. The marker is now kept until it is too old for the row to still arrive, and the turn starts only after its chat row is committed.

Deep Intelligence sat as a separate top-level option below a divider, reading as a mode outside Automatic even though the router already picks it from auto. It now hangs off Automatic as a sibling of Fast and Expert, matching how the router behaves.

The card that offers next steps only showed when a session stopped or ended. It now also pops up when you pause a live session in the macOS app, and tucks away again when you resume.

You can mention project members in a thread message and they get notified through a personal inbox stream that badges and toasts across every project they belong to. Mentions validate against project membership, so a mistyped name is rejected instead of silently dropped.

Chief gained 15 tools to work with your actions, labels, and assets instead of only describing them. Reads run immediately; the eleven write tools record a pending action and show a confirm card, so you see exactly what Chief will do before anything happens.

Auto used to pick only between Fast and Expert, and agents were tied to the Deep Intelligence tier. The tier and agent delegation are now independent: auto can route to Deep Intelligence when a prompt calls for it, and agents run in whatever tier the chat is set to for Pro and above.

The "Live" badge on the Live Sessions list and detail pages could vanish for a session that was still running, because the pages evaluated liveness once against a frozen clock. A reactive clock now re-checks liveness over time and both pages poll every 30 seconds, so the badge stays accurate without a refresh.

Opening the Live Sessions list showed only a small "Loading…" line in the corner, so a slow cold load looked stuck or empty. A responsive grid of placeholder cards now appears while the list fetches, making the load obvious.

Chief failed to stop a live session when a call ended, because meeting detection leaned on raw microphone activity that a dictation daemon could mask and that Zoom held open for about 20 minutes after you left. Detection now reads every mic-using process and tracks Zoom's per-meeting helper, and a finished call auto-pauses the session instead of stopping it.

• A call-ended popover offers Stop live session to finalize or Resume if the end was a false positive
• Pausing keeps the recording intact so a misread end costs one click, not a lost session
• Zoom detection no longer requires remote audio, so solo and host meetings are detected

A fast capture pass runs between the slower curation ticks in Live Sessions, appending new to-dos and decisions as they are spoken rather than holding them until the next full re-rank. The curation pass still owns all reordering and rewording, so the list you are reading stays calm while additions land quickly.

Triggering a suggested to-do action in a Live Session used to show a static "Working…" pill only while a chat streamed, so the surface looked idle while work was underway. The summary row, expanded action surface, and chat-tab header now show a spinner with live activity text through pending and running states, a red Failed badge with the reason on error, and a persistent Chat badge once done.

Tool calls were failing hard across the platform when Anthropic's fine-grained tool streaming shipped invalid or truncated JSON as a tool's input. The raw input now reaches tool dispatch, which reports it back to the model as a retriable error so it re-issues the call with well-formed arguments instead of the turn crashing.

On a Live Session you can now select any transcript text to copy it or open a chat about that passage. The chat opens beside the transcript, grounds on the whole session, and saves under the session's Chats without a refresh.

Live Session transcription streams audio in one-second windows instead of ten-second batches, so lines land in about one to two seconds and interims update continuously. Long same-speaker runs break into paragraph-sized turns on a real pause or after 30 seconds.

Live Session to-dos now suggest four more actions in addition to email, calendar, message, research, and document. Hovering an action button shows a tooltip naming the keyword that matched or marking it as a common next step.

The diagnostics modal sent a blank contact email, so every submission returned an error after the logs had already uploaded and the modal reset with no sign anything went wrong. It now sends the paired user's email, or prompts for one when the device is unpaired, and confirms the submission.

Copying a live session summary as rich text produced plain text with headings glued to the preceding paragraph, like "end of the quarter.Action Items". Block-level elements are now separated by a blank line, while inline elements still concatenate so sentence spacing survives.

Recurring actions queued the next run only when the current run finished, so a failed run stopped the schedule and the owner never knew. A scheduler now fires each action on time regardless of the last run's outcome, and stranded actions are re-armed automatically.

The presentation viewer toolbar overflowed and slide text got clipped in a narrow side panel. Button labels now collapse to icons and center as the panel narrows, and the slide preview scales to fit the panel.

Active bullets in the Chief live-session summary now carry a pencil that swaps the text into a textarea, so you can trim, combine, or rewrite a to-do, decision, or point without a heavy flow. Your edit persists across relay updates: the model can still rerank, re-parent, or dedupe the item, but it no longer overwrites your wording.

Read-only integration tools are always on for connected integrations instead of hiding behind a catalog the agent had to activate first. Ask about a decision made in Slack and the answer comes from Slack rather than a plausible match in uploaded documents. The agent's system prompt names the connected sources so it knows what is actually available.

Starting a live session no longer opens a modal to pick a project and enter context first. The session begins right away, and if you belong to more than one project a prompt highlights the project breadcrumb so you can change it within a few seconds.

You add and edit a session's context from the summary panel instead of a start-time modal, and you can fill it in after the session has already started. Only the host can edit it; everyone else sees it read only, and edits feed the next capture pass without a replay.

Typing @ in the composer now lists your project's Live Sessions under a Live Sessions section, fuzzy-filtered as you type. Pick one and it attaches as a named pill that grounds your message on that session's transcript and actions.

Chief now runs a hosted Model Context Protocol server at mcp.chief.bot, so you can connect Chief to other AI tools without standing up your own. It runs the same MCP Chief maintains publicly.

You could not reliably highlight text in the Live Session transcript or summary in the macOS app, and Cmd+A did nothing useful. Text now selects with a drag, and Cmd+A selects the content of whichever panel has focus.

• The highlighted-text snippet in a chat bubble stays selectable while drag-to-move works from the label strip

Web Live Session transcripts showed remote turns as "Speaker 1", "Speaker 2", and so on, which did not match the desktop app. Remote turns now read "Them" everywhere, including exported and copied transcripts, and past sessions get the new label too.

Opening any Settings page blanked the Recent Chats list in the left nav, because Settings routes carry no project id. The sidebar now keeps the last project's recents on screen and only clears them when you sign out.

Clicking the background-processing notification banner for a chat in a different project than the one you were viewing landed on a "This chat is no longer available to you" page. The banner now navigates to the chat's own project so it renders correctly.

The chat activity river and knowledge-base citations rendered raw internal labels like activity_loaded_persona and kb_citation_excerpt_label instead of translated text. The affected labels are restored, so the activity river reads "Loaded Expert Voice" and "N tools" and citations read "Excerpt from ... N lines".

Notion replaced its internal-integrations flow with a Connections experience, so the old setup instructions pointed at a screen that no longer exists. The Notion section now walks through six steps against the current UI, with a Requirements list and new screenshots.

The audio capture ring buffer used 32-bit position counters that overflowed after about 12.4 hours at 48kHz, writing below the buffer and breaking audio on very long sessions. The counters are now 64-bit, so extended sessions capture cleanly.

When a page was deleted in Notion but its deletion webhook never arrived, the hourly re-sync kept adding and updating pages without ever removing the deleted one, so it stayed in Chief indefinitely. A new daily prune reconcile now walks every Notion deployment and drops pages that are no longer in scope.

The hourly Notion backstop re-walked every live deployment on every tick, which was wasteful given webhooks already handle changes and full re-walks hit Notion rate limits. It now records when a deployment finishes a full sync and skips any synced in the last 4 hours or with a sync already in flight.

• An incomplete walk that skipped a subtree is left unmarked so the next tick re-walks it

The old ingestion dashboard and jobs page are now one screen at /jobs. You can filter jobs by type, bound them to a time window, watch the current step of active jobs, and kill a pending or processing job so the runner skips it.

The Chief live summary reads as a hierarchical document: topic sections, main points, and one level of sub-points. Low-value detail nests under the point it supports instead of vanishing by model judgment, so nothing disappears unless you set it aside yourself.

Org owners hit a 404 when they tried to remove a Notion, Slack, or Google integration. Removal now completes, and the integrations page handles projects that were deleted while still attached to an integration.

• The editor stays open after a toggle instead of collapsing on refetch

When every item in a topic was set aside, copied and exported summaries rendered a heading with no bullets under it. Empty sections are now dropped from text, Markdown, and HTML exports on both Chief native and the web session page.

Notion content can point in circles, like a synced block that re-presents a block already walked higher in the same page. The sync kept no memory of visited blocks and would walk that loop endlessly, leaving the job stuck in processing. The walk now tracks visited blocks per page and skips a repeat, so the descent terminates.

• Repeated block ids from synced blocks are skipped as cycles without re-fetching their subtree
• A depth cap of 100 stops pathologically deep nesting and marks the walk incomplete so the prune is deferred
• Skipping a lossless cycle keeps the walk complete and does not defer the prune

When Notion rate limited the connection, walk workers kept sleeping and retrying while the job looked healthy, so it never finished and never failed. A throttled call now waits out rate limits for up to 15 minutes, then fails the step so the job runner retries it later.

• Waits honor Notion's Retry-After up to 5 minutes rather than retrying every 60 seconds
• Network errors give up after a few attempts so the walk can skip that subtree
• Waits stop immediately when the job is cancelled

When a customer revoked their Notion integration secret, every API call returned 401 and sync jobs retried forever. Sync now fails cleanly and pauses, and the Notion integration settings show an amber warning with a Reconnect action so you can restore syncing with a new key.

Organization owners can now proactively rotate a Notion internal integration secret from the integration card. The new key is verified against Notion before it replaces the current one, and a full re-sync of every deployed project is queued.

Notion refuses to serve some block types such as ai_block to certain bot types with a 400 validation_error, which previously failed the entire page. These blocks are now handled so the rest of the page syncs.

The @mention picker in the web app got a compact Linear- and Notion-style redesign with lightweight rows and file-type icons on assets. As you type, the closest matches rise to the top, and when you have no query, items you mention often appear in a "Frequently used" section so a go-to Expert Voice or spreadsheet is a couple of keystrokes away.

Resolved cards now remain hoisted as a compact receipt row instead of sinking into the timeline, and the header reads "Actions" once nothing is pending.

A freshly generated Live Session result used to open scrolled to the very bottom, forcing you to scroll up to read a long answer from the start. It now opens at the top and stays there as it streams, while re-opening an existing chat resumes at the bottom and follows new content as before.

Live transcription could stop mid-call and never recover when a half-open socket blocked writes indefinitely. Websocket writes now carry a 10s deadline and drop the connection on failure, audio queues and replays across reconnects, and the capture watchdog rebuilds on real mic loss or silent sample-rate drift.

• Audio windows queue per stream (about a minute) and retry on a 3s flush so a reconnect replays instead of losing transcript

Transcript timestamps could read about twice the elapsed time or jump back to zero mid-session. Word times are now used as-is instead of being added to the message start, and turns are anchored to the session wall clock so they match the session timer even across silence and reconnects.

Notion sync jobs used to give up after a fixed retry budget, redoing work when a workspace-wide throttle lasted a while. The sync orchestrator now retries unbounded with a 60s per-wait ceiling, bounded only by the job's 6h context deadline, while interactive callers keep the fast-fail default.

On the Actions page, each grid-view action card now shows a compact list of up to three of the action's most recent runs, each linking straight to its result, plus a "View all run history" link into the action detail. Previously prior runs were only reachable by opening the card.

In the Live Session summary, items that produced a chat now carry a tappable "Chat" badge, and a chats list surfaces the session's chats in both the app and web views. This makes it clear which suggestions have already been developed and lets you jump straight into the thread.

Live Session summaries labeled participants "Speaker 1" while the Chief transcript labels them You/Them, so the two views described the same conversation differently. Summaries now write "you"/"they" in prose (keeping a real name when the transcript states one), and the leading speaker word in each bullet is tinted gold for You and blue for Them to match the transcript.

Chief now maintains a real-time roster of who is participating in a live session and which device holds the host lock. The host chip reads "You're hosting" for the driving device, and a project owner can reassign the host to another present device.

Scrolling up in the Live Session transcript, the action/result modal, or the web highlight thread snapped the view back to the bottom on every streamed update, fighting you while you read earlier content. Auto-follow now suspends once you scroll more than 80px from the tail and re-engages when you return near the bottom.

Notion moves from a per-project integration to an org-level one, and the agent gains live chat tools to search, read, create, update, and delete Notion content, plus @-mentions of Notion pages and users and write approvals through the tool-action pipeline. Admins can sync everything shared with the integration or pick specific pages and database views.

• Unchanged pages are skipped on re-sync; changed pages are re-rendered and re-embedded

Newly-shared Notion pages didn't appear in the @-mention picker until the next sync. The picker now loads a Notion page directly from the Notion API when it isn't yet indexed, and the integration mentions pool warms on every keystroke and on focus so late-arriving results surface.

Integration tools moved from always-on to a discoverable catalog gated by connection status, so the model no longer sees roughly 28 unusable Gmail, Calendar, Slack, and Notion tools when those integrations aren't connected. Connected integrations still surface through the discoverer tool.

The Notion tools moved onto Notion's markdown endpoints and gained three tools: notion_move_page, notion_read_comments, and notion_update_database. The agent can read a whole page as markdown in one call and edit it in place with old-string/new-string replacements.

In the Chief Live Summary, a to-do now shows multiple tool-based buttons (Draft an email, Add to calendar, Send a message, Research, Draft a document) picked by keyword from the to-do's text, instead of a single "Draft this to-do". Clicking one pre-fills the editable prompt with a tool-specific draft instruction so you can tweak it before sending.

A new Live Session was opening on the previously-selected summary tab (e.g. Decisions) because Chief's summary panel is long-lived and never reset its filter between sessions. The filter now resets to All whenever the active session changes.

Zooming the Chief app with Cmd + rendered the Live Session project picker's dropdown (and other popovers) detached from their anchor, because a CSS zoom on the root double-scaled floating positions. The app now uses WKWebView's native page zoom, which leaves DOM coordinates undistorted so popovers stay anchored at any zoom level.

The copy-to-project modal was single-select. You can now pick more than one destination project and the file is copied to all of them in one action, with each selected project showing a check.

You can now clear a chat card from the Chief Live Session chat column. Each card shows an X control that opens a confirm dialog noting the chat itself isn't deleted, then removes the card from your view.

Sub-agent "summary" documents previously showed only in the activity river. They now also appear in the Created Files card, grouped below the agent's own artifacts under a "From sub-agents" divider, with the same copy and download controls.

The expanded activity timeline collapsed on any click outside its container, so choosing a format from a file's download menu closed the panel and lost your scroll position. Downloads and Kobalte menu selections are now recognized as not click-aways, so the panel and scroll position survive.

Ended Live Sessions that stopped abnormally (app crash, force-quit, network drop) kept showing a red "live" badge in the web view, because state only flips to Ended on the device's final flush. A Started session is now treated as no longer live once its last write is more than 5 minutes old, well beyond the 30s host lease.

A Pause/Resume button now sits in the Chief live-session header. Pausing stops audio capture, transcription metering, and extraction while keeping the session record and sockets alive, so resume is instant and nothing is billed while paused.

Chief now registers the chief:// URL scheme so a link like chief://sessions/{sessionId} opens the app and navigates to that session. Links reach the running tray app, and a link that cold-launches the app is buffered until the runtime is ready.

The live summary is now the canonical session summary, so the post-session job that produced a redundant markdown summary and action items has been dropped; it now generates only the title and description. A fresh live session in the Chief desktop app previously opened three panels including an empty Chats panel that only showed "No chats (yet)." Now only Transcript and Summary open by default, and Chats can be reopened anytime from the panel "+" menu.

• Saved layouts are migrated so existing installs pick up the new default

In the Chief desktop app, starting a chat from a transcript highlight bubble or a summary bullet now opens the Chats panel so the new chat stays findable after you close the response. The panel stays closed until you actually start a chat.

Long answers in a Chats panel card were clipped with no way to read them without opening the chat, and long titles wrapped over many lines. Cards now scroll their own body on hover-scroll and titles ellipsis to a single line; clicking still opens the full chat.

A live session could restore with an empty dock group persisted in local storage, leaving a blank white area on the right that indented the Transcript and Summary panels. Empty groups are now pruned on restore and before saving, so surviving panels reflow to full width.

The highlight chat bubble in transcript view can now be repositioned by dragging its header strip, so it no longer blocks the text you highlighted. The dragged position is remembered across selections until you reload, and the bubble clamps to stay fully on screen.

The Chief live-summary panel now supports multi-select: Cmd toggles a row, Shift-click selects a contiguous range within a topic. Clicking a selected row's set-aside or restore icon applies the action to the whole selection in one batch.

Tapping restore on a single Chief Live Summary item also moved unrelated auto-demoted items in and out of the summary. A manual set-aside or restore now updates only the item you tapped; the full budget rebalance runs only on the next capture tick.

When filtering projects in the Live Session start modal, the results list blended into the description box below it. The dropdown now sits in a distinct container with a darker fill and gold accent border, clearly separated from the modal and the description textarea.

Users often missed the "Draft this to-do" quick-action in an expanded Live Session summary row because it looked like a faint pill. It is now a solid brand-filled button matching Send, placed below the chat input as a clear next step. The same treatment applies to the decision and context kinds.

The project deletion modal in the top bar and project settings now requires you to type the exact project name before the delete button enables. The warning also states the action is permanent and affects all users, guarding against accidental deletion.

After connecting Slack, a collapsed section now explains that the Chief bot must be invited into each Slack channel before it can read that channel's messages. It appears on both the org integrations page and the per-user connect-Slack card.

Users who own a project inside an org they don't own at org scope were intermittently shown an access-denied screen right after sign-in, caused by a redirect to an owner-only org page during a post-login race. Home and fallback navigation now redirect to an org only when the user owns it at org scope, otherwise falling through to the user's default project.

The marketing header CTA previously always read "Sign Up" for logged-out visitors. It now reads "Sign In" and links to the sign-in page for users who have signed in before, detected via a cookie that persists across logout.

In the "Do more with this text" popup that appears when you highlight an assistant response, the Copy action now appears as the first icon, ahead of Share, putting the most common action first.

The sign-in screen didn't make it clear that email Magic Link and Google login are two separate ways to sign in. The Magic Link button now shows a tooltip noting magic links are more secure than passwords with a link to learn more, and the Google button and "Or" divider are restyled to read as a distinct parallel option.

During Google Workspace integration setup, clicking "Upload JSON file" could scroll the app shell out of view with no scrollbar, leaving a blank page. The file input is now anchored to its label so focusing it scrolls a recoverable container, and the project checklist is height-capped to keep the form compact.

Clicking the macOS download button previously navigated away with no feedback. It now keeps you on the page, starts the download via a hidden frame, and shows a modal with illustrated drag-to-Applications install steps. The installer window itself also shows on-brand instructions.

The Chief desktop app now stays alive in the menu bar on Cmd+Q so passive meeting detection keeps working, with a one-time explainer the first time it backgrounds. A menu-bar "Quit Chief" item still fully exits.

The project selector in the Chief desktop app now lets you create a new project without leaving the picker. New projects land in your home organization, resolved automatically from your account, and the picker selects the project once it is created.

In the Chief desktop app you could highlight the "Listening for the conversation to start…" placeholder and open a chat before a live session had any transcript. Highlight and chat are now enabled only once a session has real content, remaining available during the session and after it ends.

The Chief desktop app's ListenBar now shows a live speaker split computed from transcript turns: your local mic counts as You, everyone else as Them, and silence is never attributed. Transcript speaker labels are colored gold for You and blue for Them to match the bar.

In the Chief desktop app you can now select any passage of the live transcript to open a chat bubble and ask about it. Chief answers grounded in the meeting brief and running transcript, and highlighted passages stay marked in the transcript so you can jump back to the conversation.

When a detected Zoom or meeting call ends, the Chief desktop app now stops any running live session on its own instead of showing a stop prompt. The stop prompt's UI had been lost in the SolidJS rewrite, so this replaces it with automatic teardown followed by the session summary.

When you revoke a device's pairing from the web app's device settings, the Chief macOS app now detects it and shows a notice even with no session running, with a button to mint a new pairing code. Only a definitive 401 counts as revoked and two consecutive rejections are required, so a flaky network never strands a valid pairing.

During first-run onboarding, the native macOS meeting-detection prompt appeared while the in-app welcome dialog and guided tour were still on screen, interrupting setup. The prompt now waits until the webview reports onboarding is finished before it can fire on meeting detection.

Opening or refreshing a chat thread snapped to the very top because the load effect set scrollTop to 0. Threads now open pinned to the bottom at the latest message, re-pinning for a few frames as virtualized rows settle so long threads land correctly.

Web searches and web page fetches through Exa failed opaquely on temporary provider hiccups. Rate limits, 5xx responses, and connection-level network errors now get one quick retry, and failures that remain are surfaced with a clear "temporarily unavailable, try again" message and retryable guidance.

The native app relay worker was emitting free-flowing XML text instead of the structured meeting_insights tool call about 40% of the time. It now forces the tool call on one-shot chats and skips stored memory for native app ticks so nano's context stays clean.

A live session now carries a member list recording who was invited, who has joined, and each member's role, as a step toward multi-player sessions. Host-eligible members may take the host lock to drive transcription while viewers watch the host's live outcomes.

• Invites are idempotent per user, reviving a member who left without demoting one already joined
• Membership requires the actor to be able to read the session

When browser notifications are blocked, retrying does nothing because the browser ignores the request. A guided modal now walks you through your browser's notification setting with per-browser steps, replacing the dead-end blocked banner state.

The integration setup panels in Organization settings replaced their flat step list with titled, numbered sections covering requirements, service-account creation, API enablement, delegation, and key upload. Direct links open the relevant Google Cloud and Workspace admin pages, and the Slack section renders a copyable app manifest inline.

The account popover gained an entry that opens the developer site at dev.chief.bot, giving quick access to MCP and CLI documentation.

Pasting a screenshot, copied image, or file from the OS file manager into the prompt bar previously did nothing because the editor only read plain text. Pasted files now route through the same upload pipeline as drag-and-drop and the image button, attaching automatically. Normal text and rich paste are unaffected.

The unified search bar can now match asset names and descriptions, showing a Files section next to chat results. New filters let you narrow by file type, owner, and status.

The chat visibility control used to disappear when a chat was set to "Everyone in the project," leaving no consistent place to check or change it. It now always renders in the header with a matching icon (globe for Project, users for Restricted, lock for Private) and opens the visibility modal when clicked.

The Create Action prompt editor gained a rich-text toolbar with buttons for bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, code block, bullet and numbered lists, and quotes. Active formatting is highlighted as you move the cursor. This ships alongside fixes for mangled code blocks in template prompts and relocated Slack/Gmail mention autocomplete.

In web chat, a streamed answer could stop rendering partway through while the full response was already saved, so a page refresh was needed to see the complete text. The answer renderer now reconciles the visible stream to the authoritative final text when a block finishes, appending only the missing tail without duplicating content.

The "Created N Files" card used to blend into long answers and showed a near-black hover background on file rows in dark mode. It now has a brand-tinted fill, a filled header bar, and a larger bold heading, and the file-row hover background is removed. All colors use theme-aware tokens so it renders correctly in light and dark mode.

Calendar, email, Slack, and free/busy result cards in chat were capped to a narrow max width. The cap is removed so these cards fill the available space.

Chief's onboarding was rewritten with new copy and a guided tour that paints a scripted session into the transcript, suggestions, and chat panels. You click a spotlighted checkmark to approve a To-Do and watch Chief develop it into a full answer, using the same render paths as a real session.

The device pairing entry screen shows a hint link that opens the environment-aware device-pairing page in your browser, sharing the same URL as the "Get Pairing Code" button.

A host device can now push transcript turns, context snapshots, and state changes to the control plane, where non-host devices and web viewers subscribe and render them in real time. A host lock coordinates which device drives the session, with acquire, heartbeat, and release for clean takeovers.

Develop and chat actions failed against a session once it stopped because the session left the active map. The just-ended session is now retained as the develop/chat target so actions and follow-ups still work while the transcript stays up for review, in both live and replay modes.

Bluetooth input devices in HFP mode can run below 48kHz, which corrupted transcription because the pipeline and Deepgram assume 48kHz. Audio is now read back at the device's actual rate and resampled up to 48kHz before sending. A peak-based silence gate also replaces the RMS gate so quiet or distant mics with clear speech are no longer dropped.

The Gmail draft tool can now create a draft as a forward or reply to an existing message. Forwards append the quoted original text and default the subject to "Fwd:", while replies thread under the original conversation and default the subject to "Re:".

• Forwarding appends the quoted original body and starts a new thread
• Replying sets threading headers so the draft stays in the original conversation
• Subject defaults to "Fwd: <original>" or "Re: <original>" when left empty

Clicking a recent chat, or revisiting one you opened before, renders the thread immediately instead of showing a loading spinner. The top recent chats are warmed in the background after the list loads, and fresh content is fetched quietly behind the scenes.

The transcript used to label the local speaker with the paired account's email, which could surface a guest placeholder address (user_<id>@guest.storytell.ai) as the name. Speakers are now generic: "You" for your own mic and "Them" for everyone else, across the live view and every copy or export format.

• Per-speaker colors and coalescing still keep distinct remote speakers as separate bubbles
• Guest placeholder addresses are no longer treated as a real identity, so the user tag hides and diagnostics prompts for a contact email

Some RFC-valid email addresses failed the profile load's email format check, which blanked the signed-in user. The email field is now accepted as-is since the backend already owns it and it is only displayed.

In the initial pairing state the empty error line reserved space that pushed the button below a dead band. The empty error now collapses so the button sits flush, and the preamble copy explains what Chief does and to connect your Mac.
