Live Session app v1.1.4: Turn an existing transcript into a full session

Until now, a session had to start with a live meeting. If someone sent you notes from a call you missed, or you had a subtitle file sitting on disk, none of it could reach Chief.

Transcript upload

Pick Upload Transcript, choose a file, and Chief turns it into a session you can open like any other. You get the summary, action items, decisions, topics, and chat over the full text.

Supported formats:

PDF files and audio or video recordings are not supported yet. Choose a PDF and Chief tells you so instead of failing without explanation. Importing costs nothing, the same as replaying a session.

Chief reads speaker labels written as "Name:" at the start of a line and keeps each speaker separate through the transcript, so a two-person call still reads as a conversation.

Names and analysis on imports

An imported session carries the name of the file you uploaded, so a folder of transcripts arrives as a list you can recognize rather than a row of identical dev labels.

Chief analyzes an uploaded transcript in one pass over the whole thing, so the summary and action items see the full conversation at once and land faster than a minute-by-minute walk through the file.

Fixes

An empty file, or a subtitle file with cues but no text, used to produce a session with nothing in it. Chief now tells you the file has no transcript content. A subtitle file missing its timing lines gets the same treatment instead of importing half-formed.

A transcript with one very long unbroken paragraph could stall the import. Chief now splits it and brings the whole thing in.
