Live Session app v1.0.6: See who talked and let sessions stop themselves

Chief now ends a live session on its own when the call ends, shows a live You-vs-Them talk-time split in the recording strip, and warns you when this Mac's pairing has been revoked. Bluetooth mics like AirPods transcribe correctly, and to-dos still develop after you stop recording.

You used to finish a Zoom call, close the window, and find Chief still recording an empty room. You also had no read on whether you did all the talking. This build handles both.

Automatic session stop

Chief stops a running live session once your call ends and takes you straight to the summary, the same as clicking stop yourself. The old prompt asking whether to stop is gone.

Talk-time split

The recording strip shows a live You-vs-Them bar with percentages that update as turns arrive. Silence is never counted toward either side. Speaker labels in the transcript use the same two colors as the bar, so you can scan who said what.

The waveform runs longer across the strip now, reading as a continuous tape rather than a handful of bars.

Pairing and first run

Revoke this Mac from your devices page in the web app and Chief tells you, even with no session running. You get a notice with a Create new code button that opens the pairing page. A flaky connection will not unpair you.

Entering a code, you now see a link to chief.bot/settings/devices right above the field.

The first-run tour walks through a scripted session: a transcript streams in, to-dos and decisions appear, and you click the checkmark to watch Chief develop one into a full answer.

Fixes

AirPods and other Bluetooth mics produced garbled or missing transcripts because they can refuse to run at the rate Chief expected. Chief now adapts to whatever rate your device settles on. Quiet or distant mics also stop getting dropped as silence.

Approving a to-do after you stopped recording failed with a session-not-found error. Your just-ended session stays available, so you can develop to-dos and keep chatting while the transcript is still on screen.

The project picker showed a stale list, so a project you created after launching Chief was missing. Opening the start dialog now refreshes it.

The meeting nudge popped up over the welcome dialog and tour during setup. It waits until you finish.

Chief's background extraction returned loose text instead of structured to-dos and decisions about 40% of the time. To-dos, decisions, and context now come through reliably.

Install this build if you record on Bluetooth headphones or work to-dos after a call ends; both were broken before it.
