Connect Google Workspace to use Gmail and Calendar in chat
Org owners can connect a Google Workspace account once, and anyone in the chosen projects can then ask Chief about their mail, calendar, and contacts, and approve sends and event changes inline.
Asking Chief about your inbox or your week used to mean copying details in by hand. Google Workspace now connects at the organization level, so your mail, calendar, and contacts are available in the projects you choose.
Google Workspace setup
On your organization's Integrations page, an owner enters the Workspace domain and uploads the service account JSON key. The setup instructions walk through the requirements step by step and link straight to the Google Cloud service accounts page, the API library, and the Workspace Admin Console, so you are not hunting through menus. The domain field explains what to enter, including that personal @gmail.com addresses will not work, and the authorized scopes are listed with a copy button for the delegation screen.
Pick which projects the integration covers. A project belongs to one integration at a time.
Mail and calendar cards in chat
Ask about your email or schedule and Chief answers with cards: email threads and lists with unread markers and attachments, calendar events with attendees and all-day handling, availability across a time range, your calendar list, and contacts. When Google is not connected yet, or a scope has not been authorized, you see a card that says which piece is missing instead of an unexplained failure.
Confirm before anything sends
Sending an email, trashing a message, or creating, updating, moving, or deleting an event shows a confirmation card first. Review the recipients, subject, body, times, and attendees, edit them, then approve or reject. Nothing leaves Chief until you click. If you would rather skip the prompt for something you do often, you can pre-approve sending email or writing calendar events from the Tools menu.
Forward and reply drafts
Ask Chief to forward a message and it drafts one with the original quoted and a Fwd: subject. Ask it to reply and the draft threads under the original conversation with a Re: subject. Set your own subject and Chief keeps it.
Chat visibility controls
Chats in a project with Google connected start private, so mailbox and calendar content is not shared with the whole project by accident. Open the visibility menu on a chat to keep it to yourself, share it with specific project members you pick, or open it to everyone in the project. A badge on the chat shows where it stands.
Project collaborators, not just owners, can use these tools and approve actions. Owners can head to the Integrations page under organization settings to connect a Workspace account.
