Live Session app v1.1.1: Quit with Cmd+Q, and see actions as they run
Cmd+Q now quits Chief for real, a new "Show Chief in menu bar" setting controls the crown and call prompts, and live-session to-do actions show their progress while they work. Call-end detection also stops guessing, so a session pauses when you actually leave the call.
If you have been force-quitting Chief from Activity Monitor, or watching a to-do action sit there with no sign it was doing anything, this build is for you.
Quitting and the menu bar
Cmd+Q and "Quit Chief: Live Session" used to background the app instead of closing it, and on a notched Mac the menu-bar crown could hide where you could not click it. Cmd+Q now quits Chief.
Closing the window still leaves Chief running in the menu bar, watching for calls. A new "Show Chief in menu bar" toggle in Settings controls that: turn it off to hide the crown and stop the call prompts, turn it on to bring both back.
The File menu gains "New Live Session Window" (Cmd+N), which brings the window forward and resets you to a fresh session ready to start. Settings moved out of the File menu; Cmd+, still opens it.
Action progress in live sessions
Triggering a suggested to-do action gave you almost nothing to look at. You now see a spinner with "Starting…" then "Working…" on the item row, and the expanded action shows the current activity as the work moves along. If the action fails, you get a red "Failed" badge and the reason. The chat tab header carries the same status, so both views agree.
Credits in the header
The header credit count jumped from 10 to 2,429 in one frame when a chat turn landed, which read as a billing glitch. The number now ramps up to its new value, and hovering it shows the split between what your chats cost and what the session itself cost. Your billing is unchanged.
Fixes
When a call ended, your live session often kept running. Chief only looked at raw microphone activity, so a dictation daemon holding the mic could hide Zoom entirely, and Zoom keeps the mic open for about twenty minutes after you leave. Chief now checks every app using the mic instead of just the first one, and reads whether a Zoom meeting is actually live.
On call end, Chief pauses your session instead of stopping it. If the end was a misread, your recording is intact and one Resume click away.
The "Put this session to work" card used to appear only when a session ended. It now also appears when you pause, including the automatic pause at call end, and tucks away when you resume.
