Live Session app v1.1.8: Mark up screenshots and hand sessions to any AI agent

You can now draw on a screenshot, an uploaded image, or a blank canvas without leaving a session, and what you drew lands in the transcript at the moment you made it. Invites are two named paths now, Join or Watch, and the context you wrote before recording travels with the file you hand an AI agent.

You point at something on screen during a session and say "this part here", and the transcript keeps the words but loses the thing you were pointing at. This build gives you a way to draw on it.

Markup editor for visuals

You can now annotate a screenshot, an image you upload, or a blank canvas without leaving the session. Draw with the pen, add rectangles, ellipses, arrows and text, zoom and pan around the canvas, and undo or redo as you go. Hold Option while dragging to duplicate what you already drew.

A marker tool lays down thicker, semi-transparent strokes for highlighting rather than outlining. Pick any color from the color picker instead of choosing from a fixed set, and drag the handles on a text box to resize it. The sketch options sit in the floating pill, so the tool you want is where your cursor already is.

The annotated image lands in the transcript at the moment you made it, and Chief keeps what you drew alongside the picture. When you ask Chief mid-session to turn the conversation into a PRD or a plan, it works from the transcript and the markup together.

Join or Watch invites

The invite popover used to give you three rows that all started with "Copy", and you had to read the small print under each to work out which one to send. You now get two named paths side by side.

Join hands someone a seat in the session, with their voice in the transcript, and needs the macOS app. Watch hands them a browser page where they follow along and nothing of theirs is recorded. Each column tells you what the recipient gets, and one click copies the link ready to paste.

If the person you are inviting does not have Chief yet, the popover points you at the download page. If they are not on the project, it points you at the project sharing page, since a join link is refused until they are a member. The session ID sits under the join button for anyone already in the app, and you can turn a watch link back off from under the watch button.

You can paste a join link, a watch link, or a session ID into the join field, and the wording throughout now says "watch link" rather than "guest".

Session handoff to AI agents

The context you type before recording, who is on the call, what you want out of it, and the links you are working from, now travels with the export. Previously it stayed behind and the agent had to go re-find the links itself.

The handoff button no longer frames this as coding only. It reads "Send to AI agent to create: Presentations, PRDs, documents & more". The exported file carries a link back to the session on the web, your pre-session context, the summary, to-dos, decisions and the full transcript with images inline, plus a clearer explanation of what a Live Session is for an agent picking the file up cold.

Fixes

A session you hosted could stamp transcript timestamps against your own clock, so handing off hosting or pausing and resuming shifted them. Timestamps now follow the session's own timeline and survive a handoff or a pause.

Hosting a session started some background work twice over. That no longer happens.

Screenshots and annotated images you capture during a session go into your project library as things you captured, and a project automation set to run on every new file no longer fires on them. An automation that names live session media as its source still picks them up.

Update to draw on what you are talking about, and to send an invite the recipient understands at a glance.
