Live Session app v1.1.10: Pick your transcription language and reopen past sessions

You can now transcribe a session in ten languages or let Chief detect the switch, reopen and chat with any past session from a sidebar that spans every project, and tick a to-do off instead of deleting it. This build also adds private session chats, copy and download on transcript screenshots, and a host handoff the other device has to accept.

Until now every session was transcribed as English, finished sessions vanished once you closed them, and a to-do could only be removed rather than checked off. This build changes all three.

Transcription language

You pick the transcription language when you start a session. Alongside English, you can choose Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, or multilingual auto-detect when a call switches between languages.

Chief remembers your last choice for next time, and the language stays with the session, so if hosting moves to another device the transcript keeps going in the same language.

Past sessions sidebar

A sidebar lists your live sessions in chronological order across all your projects, each with a label showing which project it belongs to, so you no longer switch projects to find one. Click a session to open it, read the transcript, and chat with it.

You can rename or delete a session from the sidebar or the top bar.

Done checkbox on to-dos

Each to-do in the live summary has a checkbox. Click it and the to-do stays in the summary with a line through it instead of disappearing, and Chief stops handing it back to you as outstanding work. Click again to reopen it.

Copied and exported recaps mark a finished to-do as done, so a pasted summary tells the two apart.

Private session chats

When you start a chat from the prompt bar during a session, you can tick "Make this chat private just to me". The chat is yours alone: nobody else in the project sees it or its title, and it still shows up in your own archive. The checkbox appears only while the chat is new, since the choice applies at creation.

Transcript screenshots

Hover a screenshot pinned into a transcript, or open it full size, and you get copy and download controls. Copy puts the picture itself on your clipboard so it pastes into a document, and download saves the file in the format it was captured in.

Session roles and host handoff

Project owners and collaborators can add and remove screenshots during a session without taking over the microphone. Readers and guests stay read-only, and only the active host controls recording.

Handing hosting to another device now waits for that device to accept. You keep recording until it does, and a decline leaves your session untouched. Controls you cannot use are hidden rather than shown and refused, and Stop reads as Leave when you are not the host.

Fixes

Switching organizations used to crash the prompt bar. It stays up now.

A project you created in the web app did not appear in Chief until you quit and relaunched. Chief refreshes the list when you come back to the window and when you open the project picker, so the new project is there, including when you had no projects at all and the picker was missing.

The floating session bar washed out over light backgrounds in light mode. It now has a solid surface and a defined outline.

With a paused session open, joining a second session made your own join indicator flicker between joined and not joined. Presence now belongs to the session it came from and stays steady.

Chat tabs held onto memory through a long session and did heavy work on every token, worst on answers with code. They release memory when you close them and stream with less strain.

Update to pick your session language and get your old sessions back in reach.
