Live Session app v1.0.4: Keep recording when your AirPods switch over
Chief now recovers audio capture when you record on Bluetooth headphones or swap devices mid-call, and the meeting prompt only appears for real calls. The notification popover also picks up a cleaner layout.
If you record on AirPods, you may have watched a live session start and then go quiet, with nothing reaching your transcript. That is the main thing this build fixes.
Bluetooth mic recovery
Bluetooth headsets change how they talk to your Mac the moment recording starts, and that used to stop capture cold. Chief now notices when audio stops arriving and rebuilds the recording setup on its own, so the session keeps going.
Switching your input or output device mid-session works the same way. Plug in a headset, unplug it, or change your default mic in the middle of a call, and Chief picks up the new device and carries on recording.
Fewer stray meeting prompts
The meeting prompt used to appear whenever anything on your Mac grabbed the microphone, including Apple's own dictation. Chief now prompts only for calls in apps it recognizes: Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack, Webex, Discord, FaceTime, and calls running in Chrome or Safari.
If you take a call in an app outside that set, you will not see a prompt, and you can start a live session yourself from the menu.
Popover layout
The close button on the meeting notification moved to the top-left corner, and the Chief wordmark, the message, and the Dismiss and Start live session buttons now sit centered.
The welcome screen and homepage copy also read a bit differently: get off each call with everything handled.
Install this build if you use wireless headphones for calls, since it is the difference between a recorded session and a silent one.
