Start a live session from a Notion meeting page

A meeting page in Notion now carries a button that opens the matching live session in Chief, with context prepared beforehand and the summary written back when the call ends.

You keep meeting notes in Notion, then start a session in Chief and copy things back by hand afterwards. That round trip is gone.

Start live session link

Add a formula property to your meetings database and every row gets a "Start live session" link. Clicking it opens Chief on the session bound to that page, creating it if it does not exist yet, so clicking twice or starting from a page created minutes before the call both land you in the same session. If the meeting already ended, the link takes you to the finished session instead of starting capture.

The session page also gives you an "Open in Chief app" button and a link back to the meeting page in Notion.

Prepare and refresh actions

Create an action that runs when a new Notion page syncs, and it writes an "Open live session" link onto the page along with the context you asked it to research. Turn on "Refresh context before the meeting" and it runs again shortly before the call, so what you read at the start of the meeting is current. You can narrow the trigger to pages from one Notion database, or to pages that arrived from Notion rather than uploads.

The Actions page shows a banner that sets both halves of this up for you, and you own the prompts, so the wording and format of what lands on the page is yours to edit.

Session ended write-back

Pick "When a live session ends" as your trigger and Chief writes the summary and a collapsed transcript back onto the meeting page once the session finishes. Restrict it to sessions linked to a Notion page so ad-hoc sessions do not post anywhere.

Run against a specific page

Run Now now offers a Notion page picker for actions triggered by Notion. Choose a page and the run treats it as if it had just triggered the action, which lets you prepare a page that synced before you built the action. Pages from your configured database appear with the most recently edited first.

Open Actions to enable the flow, then add the formula property to your meetings database so the links appear on every row.
